- For Ford enthusiasts that are serious about performance! Just under the brass terminals of the MSD cap and rotor is an easy-to-adjust mechanical advance assembly. The assembly is fine blanked from chro-moly steel, TIG-welded for strength plus receives a QPQ coating. The precision weights glide on nylon bushings for smooth advancement and different springs and stop bushings are supplied so a variety of advance curves can be tuned. The steel shaft that spins the advance and reluctor receives a friction reducing coating plus is guided by a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing. This combination provides stable timing signals and spark delivery at any rpm. Triggering chores are handled by MSDs race proven, maintenance-free magnetic pick-up.

This distributor was installed in a 1949 Ford V8 original flathead along with a new coil, wires, plugs, Holley 4 barrel carb and electric fuel pump. The engine starts SO easy and runs strong. The distributor installed very easy, instructions great. Engine timing was not a problem.I did initially have a poor connection from ignition switch to coil, which caused it not to start. You need to make sure you have 12 volts at coil not only initially, but also when engine is cranking - the distributor needs a lot more current flow than the original points/distributor/coil setup. -

Direct bolt on improvement in replacing the original Ford distributor. According to MSD this is for 94-95 Mustang 5.0L only but it is also an unstated direct replacement for 91-93 Thunderbird/Cougar. -

Very nice quality item. Installed as per complete instructions. Kit was missing three mounting bolts. Car runs well however it is early in the process. I am happy! Shipping was free from AutoPartsWAY and quick.
