  • There are several different types of connectors used to supply power from a tow vehicles electrical system to a trailers wiring system. Some trailers only need the bare essentials -- running lights, brake lights and turn signals -- while others require a connection for reverse lights, electric brakes and auxiliary power. With connectors ranging from simple to complex, it may be the case that the connection between your vehicle and your trailer is not a perfect match. For example, your truck may be equipped with a 6-way round socket, but your trailer may have a 4-way flat plug. For this very common problem, CURT offers a quick and simple solution in the form of an electrical adapter. An adapter is an electrical device that allows a connection to be made between a mismatched trailer plug and vehicle socket. It easily plugs in your vehicles electrical socket and usually requires no additional wiring. CURT offers an array of adapters to accommodate most types of plugs and sockets, including 4-way flat, 4-way round, 5-way flat, 6-way round, 7-way RV blades and more. This special trailer light adapter is designed to plug into an existing 7-way RV blade socket to allow the vehicle to recognize LED trailer lights. It features built-in resistors for vehicles with computers that dont recognize LED lights and enables them to be compatible with trailers that have them. It is not intended to be used as a wiring extension. This 7-way RV blade adapter requires no splicing and is a custom wiring option for certain years of the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 Quattro or Volkswagen Touareg or VW Colorado (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). All CURT wiring and electrical products come with a one-year limited warranty to give you the assurance you need to tow with confidence.

  • There is nothing like the luxury and power that go along with heavy-duty towing. 5th wheel RVs offer a deluxe, home-away-from-home experience unlike any other, while gooseneck trailers possess a strength that far surpasses most other trailer options. As with any trailer, however, 5th wheels and goosenecks must be equipped with the proper lighting and electrical systems, and tend to require even more complex connectors than a standard receiver-type trailer setup. Make things simple with a CURT 5th wheel / gooseneck extension harness. These wiring harnesses are designed to put an extra connector socket in the bed of your pickup truck while still retaining power to the rear connector socket mounted on your bumper. This is done by plugging into the back of the existing original equipment (OEM) harness and routing through the body of the truck to a hole in the truck bed, providing a connector that is ready to accommodate your 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. This CURT extension harness is designed to work with 7-way RV blade connectors and comes in a length of 7. It is compatible with certain years of the Ford F-150, F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty (see application to verify fitment). For trucks with an aluminum body, galvanic corrosion can become a problem when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring without the appropriate protection. This kit includes isolators that allow you to install the wiring harness extension in an aluminum truck bed without having to worry about ruining the trucks finish. It includes four bolts for secure mounting and four plastic well nuts to isolate the fasteners from all aluminum surfaces.

  • A CURT custom original equipment vehicle-to-trailer connector (sometimes called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURTs OE vehicle-to-trailer connectors come into play. A custom wiring connector uses a single original equipment plug to plug into a special socket provided by your vehicle. Though this option is not available on every vehicle, some automotive manufacturers design their vehicles to be easily equipped for towing by supplying a socket, integrated into the vehicles electrical system, to readily accept a custom wiring connector. With a CURT custom OE connector, there is no need to tap into the taillight assembly because a special socket is already provided. This special custom vehicle-to-trailer wiring connector provides a multi-function connector socket. It is designed to plug into a circular 7-prong OEM socket and replace a factory-equipped 7-way connector with a 7-way RV blade and 4-way flat. It specifically offers a custom wiring option for a variety of vehicles (see application info to verify fitment with your vehicle). This multipurpose socket comes with its own backup alarm, a mounting bracket and all necessary mounting hardware for a complete installation. CURT custom vehicle-to-trailer wiring connectors are designed to be long-lasting and simple to install. They come with dust covers to keep your connector clean when not in use.
