It fit on my 1998 lexus es300 and engine light came off. I forgot what the code was exactly but it was related to the EVAP system, for which I have replaced 2 other switches. I am not sure which one of the switches helped to get the engine light off but now I feel so reliefed to know that I do not have to replace the charcole canister.

It is what it is. Nothing to say about it. It is just like the factory original. Fits perfect and operates perfect. I put it on a 2002 Mustang V6.

Solved my emissions related issue located on the Charcoal Evaporation Canister. Camry with 240K miles with a P0446 code. Did it myself and saved big $$'s compared to the AAmco service guys $800 plus estimate. One week after I installed it still no "service eng" light then went for the smog test and passed.

The tab "make sure it fits your vehicle" says that this will not fit a 2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2.7 4-cyl. This is incorrect. The Dorman 911-603 is an exact fit. I took the chance even though it said it would not fit my truck. I installed it with no problems and now my idle has smoothed out. Now I will drive my truck and hope the check engine light code p0440 does not come back on. Quality vacuum solenoid, reasonable price and fast shipping.Dave

Giving it a five star becasue it helped eliminate P0171, P0446 codes simulatneously on my RAV 4 2000 for which the same toyota part number matches; i saved $$$ by DIY and escaped autogarage merciless pricing for the same job! will see how long it lasts. But, lifetime warranty is a plus!

I bought this to replace the vacuum Switching Valve for evaporative emission control (VSV for EVAP) on my 1998 Toyota Sienna. The old one had cracked from old age. I bought this part even though I knew that this switch is not made for my 1998 Sienna and it would not be a like-for-like replacement. The difference from the original Toyota Sienna part is in the mounting bracket which does not line up with the screw hole for proper installation. The rest, the electrical connection and the switching functionality is the same. I used three plastic electrical cable ties to secure it in place. It is not going anywhere. My engine error code has now cleared. I am happy. Some reviewers complained because it did not fit their car or it did not solve the problem. On my car there are two VSV switches associated with the evaporative emissions system. The engine error code could be caused my malfunctioning of one of vacuum switches, evaporative pressure sensor, or the charcoal canister...

This vacuum switch works perfectly on a 97 camry 4 cylinder. The only thing different about it and an OEM part is that the mounting bracket is a little shorter but installation is doable. You just have to live with that one small detail and considering that you don't have to mount this VSV in the same location anyways, there is absolutely NO problem with this product at all. As soon as i turned on my car after installing this switch valve, the engine light turned off due to the P0401 code. Pretty fabulous. Just a heads up though, I cleaned my EGR valve during the same time under the hood. Check out both the EGR and VSV if you are getting that P0401 code

This valve is a vsv for EVAP, NOT a vsv for EGR. The vacuum ports on this are like 6mm where as the egr are 4mm. This valve will not work for egr. Do yourself a favor and pull the original vsv and cross reference the oem # at Dorman. Don't make the same mistake I did, or others as I see by the reviews.

I got a check engine light on my 2000 Toyota Camry CE. I hooked up my ODB scanner, and found out that the code was P0401 (insufficient EGR flow). I installed this EGR VSV, and the problem's been solved (no check engine light for the past 3,000 miles and several months). There are some things you should know: The EGR VSV is on the back of the engine, and it's a little hard to get to. Make sure to take off the passenger-side wheel, and get ready to hug some car parts. You won't be able to get a good look at the EGR VSV, but you can feel it pretty well. The original Toyota EGR VSV is on a bracket that's longer than the one on this one. You can't reuse the Toyota bracket (because of Dorman's design). And the shorter bracket does make it a little harder to install, but I don't think it'll ever cause any problems.Make sure you rule out other things like the vacuum modulator, the EGR valve itself, or a cracked vacuum hose. Search the forums online for...

My 1997 Toyota Camry LE V6 had been showing a p0446 which based on various internet searches suggested a malfunctioning vacuum switching value (VSV) that sits on the charcoal canister as the likely cause of that error code. For the 1997 Camry, this sits in the right/rear section of the engine, just below the steering fluid reservoir. 98 camrys and later, the charcoal canister sits above the rear axle. Removing the air intake allows easier access to replacing the VSV. Took only 15 min to replace the VSV. My original camry VSV had a toyota part number of 90910-12109, which was replaced by 90910-12271, which this is a 3rd party equivalent. Works great so far!

I used this to replace the aged EGR VSV on my '97 RAV4 AWD 4-door. While it's a nightmare part to get to on this model, at least this replacement was inexpensive. This part fit fine in my model RAV4 and appears to be functioning fine since the check engine light that I kept receiving was due to the EGR Modulator (see below) and has since been smogged and passed with flying colors. On a side note, I put this in hoping to clear the dreaded P0401 code. It took me hours to unhook the old part and re-route cabling to this unit, which I mounted on the firewall across from the engine.. However, after all of the work the code was not due to this part after all! It was actually the EGR Modulator which needed to be replaced, a cheaper and much easier replacement! If you are reading this review because you are getting the same code, do yourself a favor and REPLACE THE EGR MODULATOR FIRST!I'm glad I got this part anyway since the old EGR wasn't in very good condition, but...
