- A CURT front trailer hitch allows you to use the front end of your vehicle for a variety of towing applications. They can be used for mounting a w in., a snow plow, a number of towing accessories and can even be used for some trailering applications. When space is limited, a front trailer hitch is commonly used to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. At the boat ramp, your boat trailer can be hitched up to the front receiver hitch, giving you better control over the trailer as you launch. Some of the other accessories that can be used with a front tow hitch are the CURT w in. mount, step pad, license plate holder, spare tire mount, skid shield and tow hooks. All CURT front trailer hitches provide a useful receiver tube to accept a 2 in. x 2 in. shank, and they are commonly used on trucks, vans and SUVs. This front trailer hitch is rated for 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It also has a straight-line pull rating of 9,000 lbs. They can easily handle a variety of oversize trailers, including toy and car haulers, livestock trailers, dumper trailers, large flatbed trailers, large boat trailers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). This particular class 5 hitch features a gross trailer weight capacity of 20,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 2,700 lbs. It is designed to be a custom trailer hitch for certain years of the Ford F350 Super Duty, F450 Super Duty, F550 Super Duty and F650 (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). All CURT Commercial Duty class 5 hitches feature a 2-1/2 in. x 2-1/2 in. receiver tube opening to accept the strongest of ball mounts and towing accessories. They are perfect for mounting standard ball mounts, pintle mounts, tow hooks and weight distribution hitches as well as w in. mounts and cargo carriers. CURT class 5 tow hitches are protected by a co-curing of liquid Bonderite and carbide black powder coat finish. They also mount with grade-8 hardware, included with each hitch.

They are designed for the hard road where only full-size pickup trucks, vans and SUVs dare to tread. They are capable of pulling almost any heavy-duty trailer, including toy haulers, dump trailers, logging trailers, small yacht trailers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). This particular Xtra Duty class 5 trailer hitch offers a gross trailer weight capacity of 16,000 lbs. and an extra-high tongue weight capacity of 2,400 lbs. It features a 2 in. x 2 in. receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory, such as a cargo carrier or w in. mount. It is designed to be a custom-fit trailer hitch for certain years of the Ford F350 Super Duty, F450 Super Duty, F550 Super Duty and F650 (to verify compatibility with your vehicle, see application info). For a little extra towing power and stability, this class 5 hitch can also be used in combination with a weight distributing hitch. It is rated for 17,000 lbs. WD and 2,550 lbs. WDTW. In our drive to create a more powerful hitch, CURT has not neglected the finer details. Our class 5 trailer hitches are welded with precision and go through multiple stages of cleaning to create a smooth surface that is ready to accept our co-cured finish. To protect them from corrosion, chipping and UV damage, these hitches are immersed in a liquid Bonderite and then finished in a high-quality black carbide powder coat. They come with grade-8 mounting hardware for solid installation.
