I bought it used for ten bucks for my bmw e36 i was a little dissapointed to see that it only came with one, but i read that you only need one so i installed in in like 5 min and it works great!

My 1984 Mercedes 190e strut finally failed (I know, they just don't make things that last anymore) so I bought this as a replacement. The installation process took less than 5 minutes and the new strut fit properly and works perfectly.

Worked well, shipped right and easy to install.. Highly recommend this item. Recommend that you buy in pairs as the second side is probably weak and you'll need another soon.

Ordered these hood struts from AutoPartsWAY and like always, they were shipped quickly and beautifully packaged They are exact replacements for the original equipment on my 2000 MB S500. The only tool required to change them is a small screwdriver to release the clips on the old ones. Just look at the new ones and you can see how they work before you attempt to remove the old ones. One tip. Be sure to raise the hood to the full vertical position in order to snap the new ones on without hassle. You won't be able to push the new strut in like the old weak ones. The whole job only takes about 5 minutes. What a difference it makes.

I ordered the hood strut for my 2004 Audi Cabriolet since the original one doesn't support the hood any more, it just leaked and died overnight. This one came within a week with free shipping, just popped the old one out (with help of my wife) from both ends and snapped the new one in, the hood is up again. Without the strut, we can feel how heavy the hood really is.

Every place that I looked for this product, it was either the wrong strut size, or over $80. It doesn't come with instructions, but you wont need them. Just a little light pressure with a flat head screw driver prying up under the metal part, and it slides right on. Im not a mechanic, my boyfriend usually does all the work. Took less than 5 minutes to install on my 97 BMW 318I Convertible. The stock hood struts were worn out and this is the solution. Crazy easy to install and worth every penny. Search YouTube for "BMW Hood Struts" for a how-to. Do it!

Functions and looks identical to the OEM hood strut on my Audi A4 (2004, 1.8 Quattro). Removal and installation was done easily with a single flat head screw driver to hold open the locking latch. 5-10 minutes in all/ The only hard part was keeping the hood open with my head by installing the strut.
